Ipswich Town 6-0 Sheffield Wednesday - March 2024

The most recent entrant as Town thrashed the Owls at Portman Road, with Omari Hutchison shining bright with his two goals as Kieran McKenna's relentless charges got back to winning ways in the Championship. 

Strikes from Nathan Broadhead, Cameron Burgess and a brace from Ali Al-Hamadi wrapped up the memorable win at home - Town's biggest of the campaign.

Ipswich Town 6-0 Torquay United - December 1956

The first time the club recorded this feat was during the 1956/57 season when Ted Phillips netted twice and goals from John Elsworthy, Tom Garneys, Vic Snell and Jimmy Leadbetter secured the big win. 

Sir Alf Ramsey guided the club to the Division 3 (South) title that campaign, beating the Gulls to the crown on goal difference.

Notts County 0-6 Ipswich Town - September 1982 

A memorable away day at Meadow Lane for Town as Mariner grabbed himself two goals, while John Wark, Steve McCall, Alan Brazil and Fran Thijssen were the other goalscorers that day. 

Sir Bobby Robson had departed the club to become England manager that summer and the Blues finished ninth in the top flight during the 1982/83 season.

Ipswich Town 6-0 Man United - March 1980

Paul Mariner bagged a hat-trick as the Blues hammered the Red Devils at Portman Road in the First Division during the 1979/80 season.

Sir Bobby Robson's side could have scored more if it wasn't for United goalkeeper Gary Bailey making three penalty saves. Gary is the son of legendary Blues keeper Roy, who helped the club to win the top flight title in 1962.

Swindon Town 0-6 Ipswich Town - April 1999

It took over a decade for Town to reach that scoreline again when they hit six in the second tier at the County Ground in the 1998/99 season.

The Robins were reduced to 10 men after Craig Taylor was dismissed for a deliberate handball in just the sixth minute and Town took full of advantage of their extra man.

Mark Venus scored a brace, while Fabian Wilnis, Jamie Clapham, Tony Mowbray and James Scowcroft were also among the goals in the big victory. 

Ipswich Town 6-0 Nottingham Forest - March 2005

Back at Portman Road in the 2004/05 campaign, Joe Royle's entertainers put on another show as the Blues hit Forest for six in a game where they looked like they'd score every time they went forward. 

Richard Naylor opened the scoring, before Ian Westlake, Tommy Miller (2), Shefki Kuqi and Darren Bent added to the rout.

Ipswich Town 6-0 Bristol City - November 2007

Jon Walters was the hat-trick hero, firing his first senior treble as Jim Magilton's side hammered the Robins. 

David Wright, Miller and Pablo Counago got the other goals for the Blues, with future Town loanee Bradley Orr seeing red in the game for the visitors.

Doncaster Rovers 0-6 Ipswich Town - February 2011

Connor Wickham, then just 17, scored his first professional hat-trick as Town ran riot in South Yorkshire. 

Colin Healy, Gareth McAuley and an own goal from Sam Hird accounted for the other strikes that night, with Paul Jewell only being appointed a month prior.

Ipswich Town 6-0 Doncaster Rovers - September 2021 

Remarkably it was another big victory over Rovers which saw Town next hit six, this time at Portman Road in League One as Lee Evans bagged his first career hat-trick. 

Macauley Bonne struck twice and a goal from George Edmundson completed the rout to secure Paul Cook's side their first home league win of the 2021/22 season.

Ipswich Town 6-0 Northampton Town - August 2022

The first of the three times McKenna's side recorded this scoreline last season, with the Cobblers hit for six by Town in the Papa John's Trophy. 

Marcus Harness scored twice and Greg Leigh, Burgess, Edmundson and Freddie Ladapo netted once each to cruise to their biggest victory in the competition.

Ipswich Town 6-0 Charlton Athletic - April 2023

Conor Chaplin struck a hat-trick against the Addicks with the Blues in the middle of their relentless promotion-winning run in the third tier. 

Ladapo came off the bench to weigh in with two goals before Leif Davis scored in stoppage time to cap an emphatic win.

Ipswich Town 6-0 Exeter City - April 2023

Oh what a day! The game in which Town sealed their promotion back to the Championship in style.

The Blues raced to a remarkable 5-0 half-time lead, Chaplin netting twice, and Massimo Luongo, George Hirst and Broadhead one each, before Wes Burns added the sixth in the second half as the Blues ended their four-year stay in League One.
