Bayern Munich ended their three match winless run on the weekend with a 2-0 win over Cologne at home, but the main news from Germany over the weekend was that their 11-year streak of Bundesliga title winners came to an end with Bayer Leverkusen winning their first ever league title with five games to spare.

Failure to defend the league title leaves the Champions League as the only competition Thomas Tuchel's side have any chance of winning, leaving the Bavarians available to focus fully on Wednesday night's tie against a potentially fragile Arsenal side.

Bayern Munich have won six of their last seven matches at the Allianz Arena, and haven't lost a Champions League game at home for more than three years, and will be confident of getting past Arsenal on Wednesday having performed well at the Emirates last week to earn a draw.

Arsenal have gone consecutive matches without a win for the first time this calendar year having followed up their draw with Bayern with a shock 2-0 home defeat to Arsenal which has relinquished their place at the top of the Premier League table.

The weekend's results leaves Manchester City two-points clear at the top of the Premier League, a position held by Mikel Arteta's Gunners until Saturday afternoon.

With Man City having arguably the easiest run in of the three teams, Arsenal realistically need to win each of their last six games to have any chance of winning their first league title in 20 years.

The north London side are winless in two of their last four games ahead of their must-win match in Munich on Wednesday, but have lost only one of their last seven on the road and boast the best away record in the Premier League this season.

Arsenal are now winless in their last four games with Bayern Munich, of which they've lost three, and have won an away game against the German giants just once in their history, which occurred 11 years ago now.
