Sky Sports announced that it will broadcast every single match from the opening weekend of the Championship, League One and League Two.

The broadcaster says it will be a first, with an more than 1000 matches to be shown across the whole season.

Every team from the EFL will be shown at least 20 times, with that increasing to 24 times for every Championship club.

This includes every game from the opening weekend and the EFL have confirmed that the traditional 3pm blackout on Saturday, August 10 will not be in effect.

It confirmed 'in the case of the opening weekend, Article 48 will not apply'.

This is part of the launch of Sky Sports +, a new channel that will increase the live sport on offer by 50 per cent.

This follows the signing of a new domestic rights deal with broadcaster Sky Sports worth £935m over a five-year period

From the 2024/25 season onward, this new deal with Sky Sports will effectively replace the EFL’s domestic video streaming option provided via iFollow and club streaming services.

Audio services will remain domestically, alongside existing audio-visual arrangements for international audiences.

The new deal represents a more than 60 per cent increase on the current rights value
