Danny Graham calls for togetherness as Blackburn Rovers prepare for three games in seven days

Speaking to the club’s official website, Blackburn Rovers striker Danny Graham has called for the team to stick together as they prepare to take on Huddersfield Town, Birmingham City and Preston North End in the space of seven days.

Prior to the international break, Blackburn Rovers have not won in three matches, with the international break meaning that they have had to wait for the chance to bounce back from a disappointing 4-2 defeat to Queens Park Rangers.

Now, striker Danny Graham has said that he is hoping the next three fixtures offer them the chance to get themselves back into the mix for the top six, calling for togetherness. He said:

“We have produced performances this season and I think we’ve been quite unlucky in a few games. We need to keep believing, keep trying hard, keep buying into what the gaffer wants, and I’m sure we’re in for a good season.

“We look back at the block of games and feel that we should have done better in the last three games. The next batch of games, with Huddersfield, Birmingham, Preston, Sheffield Wednesday, it’s a tougher set of fixtures.

“But knowing us we’ll probably get more points out of them. Let’s stick together, let’s keep working hard and make sure we’re heading in the right direction. We need to go on an unbeaten run to push ourselves back up into the mix, and it’s something we did last season. I believe we have a stronger squad this season, so why can’t we do it again?”

Graham then admitted that at times he has to bite his tongue as he waits for a starting slot, but insisted that he is happy to continue working hard for the team.

“As hard as it is for me to bite my tongue at times, I’ll keep working hard for the group and I’ll never give up. I want to get back out there and play, but if the team I winning then I’ll happily sit on the bench. If I feel I can make an impact in games then I will say it to the gaffer. First and foremost it’s important that the team comes first.”
