Bristol City to consider one “key factor” when deciding on permanent deal for loan favourite

A report from Bristol Live has said that Bristol City will take the injury history of loan favourite Benik Afobe into strong consideration when deciding whether or not to make a permanent move for the Stoke City loanee.

Benik Afobe has become a firm favourite while on loan with Bristol City. The striker has scored three goals in five games for the club, with his involvement being limited due to an ACL injury suffered in the early stages of the season. With the injury and personal circumstances making it a difficult season off the pitch for the striker, his rapport with the Bristol City fans has grown.

With the summer transfer window approaching, questions have been asked regarding Afobe’s future. Afobe only joined the Robins on a loan deal last summer but the deal holds the option to make the transfer permanent this summer.

Now, Bristol Live has reported that there is one key factor that the club will bring into consideration when deciding whether or not to sign him on a permanent deal.

Afobe has struggled with injuries over the course of his career and it is said that Bristol City will bring the striker’s injury history into consideration when weighing up a permanent deal.

The fee for the permanent deal is said to be upwards of £5 million so it will be interesting to see if Bristol City have the financial means to complete the deal, with football being thrown into financial uncertainty. Bristol City fans, would you like to see Afobe join permanently this summer?
